The horn is unlacquered but has a silver finish (if you want to keep it shiny, polishing is required!). From an aesthetic standpoint, the finish is in very good condition with minor scratching from polishing. The lead pipe, keys, valves, tuning slides are Elkhart original. The modification took place before I bought it as the original bell suffered an accident and was replaced by a brand new V8D bell & bore.
